Thank you for choosing Vidyaa. This Refund Policy applies to all purchases made across Vidyaa's Products, including Vidyaa AI (vidyaa.com) and English Mastery by Vidyaa (learn.vidyaa.com), and any other current or future Vidyaa Products (collectively, the "Service"). This Policy applies to Transactions completed by both individual consumers and businesses.
This Policy forms part of, and is subject to, our Terms of Service. If there is any inconsistency between this Policy and the Terms, this Policy governs refund matters specifically.
If local consumer protection laws, or the terms of a payment processor acting as merchant of record on our behalf, provide you with additional or non-waivable rights, the highest level of rights will always apply. Nothing in this Policy limits any mandatory consumer rights you have under the law of your country of residence.

1. Our General Refund Principles
1.1. Non-refundable for the used period. Once you have accessed, used, or consumed a portion of a paid feature, subscription period, AI credits, or assessment (including an EIQ Score report on English Mastery by Vidyaa), that used portion is non-refundable, except where required by applicable law.
1.2. Refunds are discretionary. Subject to the statutory rights described in Section 4 below, all refunds are issued at Vidyaa's sole discretion. Submitting a refund request does not guarantee that a refund will be granted.
1.3. Full refunds are rare. A full refund will generally only be considered where you have not used the Service or the relevant paid feature at all during the applicable period — for example, you purchased a subscription, AI credit pack, or assessment but did not log in, consume any credits, start an assessment, or access any content under that purchase.
1.4. Pro-rata refunds for unused periods. Where you have partially used a subscription, credit pack, or other time-based or quantity-based purchase, we may, at our discretion, issue a partial refund for the genuinely unused portion, calculated on a pro-rata basis (for example, unused days remaining in a billing cycle, or unused AI credits remaining in a credit pack).
1.5. Refunds will not be issued where there is evidence of fraud, refund abuse, misuse of free trials, sharing of account access in violation of our Terms, or other manipulative behavior.
1.6. If you receive a refund under this Policy, your access to the relevant Product, feature, credits, or report will be revoked or reduced accordingly.
1.7. Refund requests must be made within the applicable statutory period (see Section 4) or, for discretionary requests, within 14 days of the relevant Transaction date.
2. How Refunds Are Calculated
2.1. Subscriptions (e.g. Vidyaa AI or English Mastery by Vidyaa plans): If approved, a refund will typically reflect the unused number of days remaining in your current billing cycle, calculated pro-rata from the date your refund request is approved, less any portion of the cycle already used.
2.2. AI Credits: If approved, a refund will typically reflect the value of unused credits remaining in your account at the time of approval. Credits that have already been consumed are non-refundable.
2.3. One-time purchases (e.g. a single EIQ assessment, report, or exam-readiness pack): These are generally non-refundable once the assessment has started, your report has been generated, or the content has been accessed. A full refund may be considered only if you have not started or accessed the purchased assessment or content at all.
2.4. Add-ons linked to a main subscription expire when the main subscription ends and follow the same refund criteria as the main Transaction, unless stated otherwise at the time of purchase.
3. How to Request a Refund
3.1. To request a refund, contact us using one of the following methods:
Email support @ vidyaa.com with your account email and order/transaction reference; or
Use the "Manage Subscription" or "Billing" section within your account, where available; or
If your purchase was processed by a third-party payment provider acting as merchant of record, use the support link provided in your purchase receipt.
3.2. If your refund is approved, it will be processed using the original payment method where possible, within 14 days of approval.
3.3. Our transaction records will be used to assess eligibility and timing but will not override any statutory rights you may have.
3.4. If a Transaction is not eligible for a refund, you may still cancel your subscription at any time to stop future billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period and prevents further charges; it does not retroactively refund the current period unless eligible under this Policy.
4. Country-Specific Statutory Rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have additional, non-waivable statutory rights to withdraw from a purchase and receive a full refund, regardless of usage. Where these rights apply, they override the general principles in Section 1 above for the relevant period.
European Union / EEA / Switzerland / United Kingdom
You have a 14-day statutory right to withdraw from certain digital content and service contracts and receive a full refund. This right applies to one-off purchases and to the first payment of a subscription. It does not apply to subsequent renewal payments. If your purchase includes a free trial, your 14-day withdrawal period begins when the free trial ends. This right does not apply once you have given express consent for us to begin supplying digital content (such as starting an assessment or consuming AI credits) before the withdrawal period ends, and have acknowledged that doing so forfeits your withdrawal right.
Turkey / Israel
You have a 14-day statutory right to withdraw from certain digital content and service contracts and receive a full refund, requested within 14 days of your Transaction date.
South Korea / Brazil / China
You have a 7-day unconditional right to cancel digital content or service contracts after delivery and receive a full refund, requested within 7 days of your Transaction date.
Canada
You have a 7-day unconditional right to cancel digital content or service contracts after delivery and receive a full refund, requested within 7 days of your Transaction date.
Singapore
You have a 5-day unconditional right to cancel digital content or services after delivery or first access and receive a full refund, requested within 5 days of your Transaction date.
All Other Regions
Where no specific statutory withdrawal period applies, refunds are handled under our general discretionary principles set out in Section 1, and any applicable mandatory consumer protection law in your jurisdiction.
Note: These statutory periods reflect common regional consumer protection standards as of the date of this Policy and may not capture every local variation. Where local law provides a different or more favorable right, that right will apply.
5. Refunds for Technical or Product Defects
5.1. If you experience persistent technical issues, or a material defect that prevents you from accessing the features you paid for (for example, an assessment that repeatedly fails to load, or AI features that are materially non-functional), please contact us first at support @ vidyaa.com with details of the issue.
5.2. We will attempt to resolve the issue. Where we are unable to do so and the issue is confirmed to be a material technical or product defect on our part, we will issue a refund in accordance with applicable consumer protection law, regardless of usage.
6. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
6.1. We encourage you to contact us before raising a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card issuer, so we can attempt to resolve the issue directly.
6.2. If you initiate a chargeback or payment reversal, your access to the relevant Product may be suspended while the matter is under review.
6.3. This does not affect your lawful rights to dispute a charge under applicable card-scheme or consumer-protection rules.
7. Payments Processed by a Third Party
Where a purchase is processed by a third-party payment processor or merchant of record on our behalf, that party's buyer terms and refund procedures may also apply in addition to this Policy. Where there is any conflict, the policy offering you the higher level of consumer protection will apply.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time, including to reflect new Vidyaa Products, pricing models, or features. The version of this Policy in effect at the time of your Transaction will govern that Transaction. We recommend saving a copy of this Policy for your records at the time of purchase.
9. Governing Law
This Policy is subject to the governing law and dispute resolution provisions set out in our Terms of Service, without limiting any non-waivable consumer rights described in Section 4 above.
